Our community garden has been set up for the benefit of residents of Deafway, volunteers, schools, the Deaf Community and anyone with green fingers within the Preston community. Gardening holds a whole host of benefits including relaxation, sensory stimulation, physical exercise and a chance to engage with nature. We wanted to create a beautiful space fully accessible to the Deaf, hearing and disabled communities within the Preston area. As well as gardening, this area is a beautiful setting for wellbeing activities such as outdoor yoga, games, exercise and much more.
As you can see the glorious journey of change from an unused patch of land to something everyone can enjoy and be part of, our community garden will continue to grow along with its volunteers and become an even bigger space to accommodate the varying events taking place within. Creating a place for wildlife and habitats for us to explore and learn about.
If you wish to use the community garden for your next event, please email events@deafway.org.uk
